**Quantity of Drywall Boards and Sheathing**

- Measure the length of each wall and add them together.
- Multiply the length times the ceiling height to determine wall area.
- Multiply the length by the width of the room to determine the area of the ceiling.
- Add the area of the walls to the area of the ceiling.
- Divide the total area by the area of the board to be installed. (if 4 x 8, divide by 32)

Note: Typically, you do not deduct for openings. Keep calculations separate for the ceiling if different size boards are being installed.

**DRYWALL**

Note: Additional studs should be considered for corners and openings.

- Wall is 14.5'
- Convert into inches, 14.5 x 12 = 174"
- 174 รท 16 = 10.875 (round to 11

**You need 12 studs.**

*Example*: Studs are to be installed 16" on center. The length of the wall is 14' - 6".

**To Estimate Quantity of Studs**

- Measure the length of the wall.
- Make sure the length is in inches.
- Divide the length by the "on-center" spacing (in inches) and round to the next whole number.
- Add one.
